Customizing Instant Bag Noodles——『Chicken & Onion Flavored Glass Noodle Soup』

This is a tasting report for the Vietnamese-made 『Chicken & Onion Flavored Glass Noodle Soup』.
This is an incredibly cheap-lookinginstant bag noodle
I’d secretly enjoy for lunch sometimes because I liked it,
but
recently my wife was also impressed by the flavor, and it got upgraded to a light dinner after yoga.
The nickname we gave it together is
‘Blue Noodles’
We’ll proceed with the following steps.
*Cooking Method:

*Cooking Method: Throw in tons of fish balls and veggies!!
(The large chef design above is the UNIF company logo!!)
Custom Method:
* Add packet A (powder) and packet B (caramelized onion oil) to 500cc of water and bring to a boil.
*Reduce to medium heat, add Korean frozen fish cakes (chikuwa, fish balls), bok choy, napa cabbage, green beans, etc.
*Add the included glass noodles and white scallions, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
*Just before serving, add a raw egg, quickly stir to cloud the soup, then transfer to a bowl. Done!

Flavor Appreciation:
Without any additions,
it has a ‘light’
chicken onion soup flavor with a hint of char.
By customizing it,
the broth from the meatballs and the umami of the egg
add something magical,
creating a rich, pork bone soup-like depth. (The color and shape are innovative,)
helped by the meatballs’ flavor and the vegetables’ texture,
it’s enjoyable all the way to the last bite without getting boring.
Anyway, you really need to see this product’s
ridiculously cheap packaging.
The overly simple blue and yellow graphics from about 60 years ago are just too much.
(And get this—the company logo is a guy in a white shirt and headband cooking noodles outdoors while sitting on a log!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
To top it off, it costs 99 cents, while other instant noodles are around 33 cents.
Thinking there must be something special about it, I bought it out of curiosity about 10 years ago.
I fell in love with its flexibility – how it transforms when you add veggies and toppings – and have been hooked ever since.
I enjoy it 1-2 times a week.
(During COVID, it was hard to find and people were scrambling for it at Chinese supermarkets)
You’ll often find it at Chinese and Korean supermarkets around LA,
so give it a try—
