2、意外と高い車高から来る、フワフワとしたクルーズ感覚の乗車感。

私が一番好きな映画？
それは1979年公開、リドリースコット監督作の『エイリアン』なのですがその映画の設定デザインを手がけた方が、オーストラリア出身の『ロンコッブ』さんです。
（デロリアン タイムマシンはコンセプトデザイナーのアンドリュー・プロバートさんとの共作だといわれています。）
彼はその他にも、
＊スターウォーズ 第一作に登場した『異星人』のデザインや、
＊『Raidars of the Lost Ark』のNAZIの全翼機など、
メカ系やグラフィック系のデザインが秀逸で、
尊敬する造形家の一人です。
映画製作の初期段階ではタイムスリップに必要な超絶エネルギーの供給先を核実験施設での核爆発に設定していたのですが、撮影費が膨大になることでとん挫、結局デロリアンを使うことになり、
結果として、安上がり、
かつ効果的なプロップの誕生となりました。

ハッピーエンド!!となった瞬間、
未来から現れた相棒、
『ドク』から未来で大変なことが起こっているから一緒に来てくれ！とタイムマシン、
デロリアンに載せられた瞬間、
なんと！
デロリアンのタイヤが
90度外側に展開され、
ふわっとと浮き上がり、
ぐるりと方向転換の後、
画面の斜め上に猛スピードで
消え去りました！

このエンディングほどの、

めったにお目にかかれません。
