我々夫婦の現在の自家用車は、
2020年型シボレー・ボルトEVなのですが、
定期点検に行った時、GMディーラの駐車場に
ずらりと10台ほど横並びに停めてあるのをの偶然見かけた、
本来、業務用が目的の超大型フルサイズ・トラック:
『シルバラード 3500HD』
が今回お話ししたいクルマです。
6メートルを超えるその巨大さはさておき、
2段構えが特徴の、
シボレー版のフルサイズトラックのマスクが、
＊素晴らしくきりッと、
＊シャープなのに驚き、
思わず、
一目ぼれしてしまいました。
（少し小さめの、『シルバラード1500』の顔つきと比べても、遥かにハンサムで、パワフルなイメージが印象的でした。）
思いますに、
学生時代のフォードからのスポンサープロジェクトに参加したことがあり、
その時以来、あまり意識せず、フルサイズ・トラックのデザインに注目していたのかもしれません。
特にGＭ系のフロントデザインには、
『ギリシャ戦士の頬あて』に似たヘッドライト周りの切り欠き部分や空気取り入れ口など、
日本のガンダムなどのア
ニメ・メカからの影響
が見て取れまして、
常に興味を持って観察してきましたが、今回取り上げました、2020年前後のシルバラード3500系のフロント・フェイシアのデザインには長年積み重ねてきた良い特徴（ガンダム顔も含めて）がすべて生かされている感じがします。
（最近人気が増しつつあるヘビーデューティーな3500シリーズのほうが価格が高く利益率も大きいこともあり、デザインに1500シリーズ以上に注力している感じがプンプンにおいます。笑）
今回偶然見つけました、スモールカー社製の1/64サイズのミニカーの出来がすさまじく良いのも手伝い、ぜひ詳しく観察＆考察してみたくなりました。

1：角基調のキリっとしたヘッドライトが私の丁度目線の高さに来て、そこからボディーサイドのフェンダートップの張り出しがリアにかけて続く迫力満点の『視線の流れ』にやられました。
ーーー＞至近距離から見た迫力は実際に、巨大なガンダムの整備員になった感じでした。
2：言わずもがなの、ガンダム（or トランスフォーマー？）からインスピレーションを得たようなフィロントフェイシアデザインの、親しみやすさと、異質性の混在感

3：ボディー全体に配された粗密のバランスが荒々しさが強調されがちなビッグトラックに、気品と所有したくなる親しみを演出しています。
ーーーーーー＞ボンネット上のグラフィックや空気取り入れようのベント類など、細部のデザインもぬかりありません。
4：忘れがちですが、FR駆動のトラック独特の、前方に重心がある、素晴らしい「積み荷前の、前掲してるような風情」が頼もしいです。

子供のころから乗り物や、
工事現場で働くダンプカーやクレーン車が大好きだった私が、
今も印象深いトラックと言いますと、

(まさにパワーワゴンという名にふさわしいいで立ち、とその車高の高さ、第2次大戦にも投入された、文字通りタフなトラックです。）
ーーーー＞デザイン学校のプロジェクトで、フルサイズのフォードF150トラックをデザインする課題の下調べで見つけて、一目ぼれ、、、）

（昔、アメリカの自動車雑誌の広告で目にした, 1/32マック社製ポンプ車の完成品ミニチュアを購入したのですが、その確かなつくりと丁寧な組み立て＆塗装に感動したのはもちろんなのですが、）
ーーーーー＞それ以上に、その（ダンバリー・ミント社製の）愛らしい表情をした消防車の全体から醸し出す、「ディーテールのお化け」感にやられて、日夜飽きずに触りまくっていました。

（この車両、見るたびに子供のころ大好きだった、英国ITC制作の『サンダーバード』の主人公たちが乗って大活躍する化学兵器を思い出し、落ち着いていられませんでした。笑）
ーーーー＞1/64のミニカーが見つかれば記事にしたいプラモデルのハセガワさんから1/72のキットがあるようです、先ずは取り寄せて組んでみます。）

航空機、レジャーボート、トラックや大型の特殊運送機器のデザインも、トランスポーテーション・デザイナー（運送機器デザイナー）の仕事の範疇なので、学生時代に大型トラックのパッケージデザインや、旅客機の客室のデザインプロジェクトがありまして、

凄く楽しかった思い出があります。
時には普段の趣味的守な
備範囲から外に出て、
普段使ってない
心と頭の筋肉を動かし羽ばいてみるのも、

話がそれますが、大好きな落語の世界に「三題噺」という、その場て会場から募った3つのお題を使って１つのお話に仕立てるといったお遊びがございますが、私はそれに近いことを立体造形の特徴や（料理のお味）をお題にして行っている感じがします。その中で頭の中に去来する数々の着想が、全く予想外で楽しく、次回からの記事内容を大幅に変えたり、新展開につながっています。
